In the past articles we have begun to understand what is meant by Education in its three main categories and we have understood that learning is not a world dedicated only to children.
And now here is the reason why we have proposed these two activities to you. The modality used to make you discover what non-formal education is has followed the principles of non-formal education itself.
There are those who could say “trivial”, but have you noticed everything that has moved a “trivial” activity like this in you? We help you and give you small examples:
You have been guided to reflect on concepts that probably do not belong to your everyday life: what has emerged? Have you noticed that even if you didn’t know the definition well, you could somehow frame it? Well, how many times do we take it for granted that we don’t know a thing, when instead the answer is inside us and we just have to find it?
The correct answers have been found by you under our guidance: does the “Socratic” method tell you anything? Socrates, a famous Greek philosopher, though that knowledge was inherent in the students and that the task of teachers was just to make it emerge.
If you have tried to share the activity with someone, you have probably had the opportunity to confront yourself with different ways to educate and not only… looking for examples of actions, how much have you discovered each other about the modalities used with your children?
The intrapersonal reflection: haven’t you also learned something new about yourself? I am sure that from now on some things you will begin to see them with different eyes. And we are only at the beginning!
